Position Overview:
The Retail and Sales Merchandising Inventory Planner is responsible for the efficient management of inventory levels across multiple retail locations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills to optimize stock levels, minimize stockouts, and maximize profitability. The Inventory Planner collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to forecast demand, plan stock replenishment, and implement effective inventory control strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Demand Forecasting:
- Utilize historical data, sales trends, and market analysis to forecast demand accurately.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to gather relevant insights and incorporate them into demand forecasts.
- Monitor and adjust forecasts based on market conditions, promotional activities, and seasonal trends.
2. Inventory Planning and Replenishment:
- Develop inventory plans and strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize stockouts, and meet sales targets.
- Collaborate with buyers and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate replenishment of stock.
- Monitor inventory turnover rates, identify slow-moving or obsolete items, and propose action plans to mitigate risk.
3. Stock Allocation and Distribution:
- Allocate inventory to retail locations based on demand patterns, sales performance, and regional factors.
- Collaborate with distribution and logistics teams to ensure efficient stock distribution, minimizing costs and lead times.
- Monitor stock levels at each location, identifying potential shortages or excesses, and taking proactive measures to maintain optimal inventory levels.
4. Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, inventory turnover, and sell-through rates.
- Generate regular reports and dashboards to provide insights on inventory performance and recommend strategies for improvement.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and propose innovative solutions to enhance inventory management efficiencies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
2. Experience:
- Proven experience in inventory planning, demand forecasting, or related roles within the retail industry.
- Familiarity with merchandising principles, stock management, and supply chain best practices.
